Pakistan urges Iran, Israel to ‘exercise restraint and de-escalation’ after missile attacks

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the missile attacks & called on both sides to stop escalation & exercise restraint.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Islamabad was observing the overall developments in the Middle East with deep concern.

Islamabad stressed the need for international efforts to prevent the expansion of hostilities in the region & for a months-long ceasefire in Gaza.

Pakistan has previously highlighted the dangers of the attack on an Iranian consular office in Syria as a major escalation in an already unstable region.

Recent developments highlight the consequences of the collapse of diplomacy. It also highlights the serious implications in cases where the UN Security Council is unable to fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining international peace & security, the Foreign Office said.

The Foreign Ministry said it was now extremely urgent to stabilize the situation & restore peace.
