QUETTA – In the southwestern town of Noshki, at least nine workers were killed on Saturday.
The Noshki attack was the latest in a series of ambushes against workers in neighboring volatile Afghanistan. After killing foreign nationals, militants are now targeting ordinary people.
Unknown assailants intercepted the bus carrying workers from Quetta, the provincial capital, and forced nine passengers off it. They then took the passengers to the mountains.
People from other regions being brutally killed are reminiscent of similar executions carried out in the past in Balochistan.
In the rocky Noshki region of Balochistan, bodies of victims were found under a bridge with gunshot wounds on different parts of them.
The residents of Gujranwala and Mandi Bahauddin were identified as the deceased members.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed condolences & condemned the killing of innocent passengers in Noshki, expressing sympathies to the grieving families.
Bugti promised that there would be no leniency for those responsible for the incident, calling the killings a cruel & unforgivable crime.
