QUETTA: In Khuzdar market, Balochistan, a bustling market had a bomb blast that left at least two persons dead and five more injured.
The blast happened on Sunday night in Khuzdar town.
According to early reports, the powerful blast rocked Umar Farooq Chowk, a crowded marketplace where people were busy shopping days before Eidul Fitr.
A large number of people, including women & children, were at the market at the time of the explosion.
Two people died and five others were injured in the blast, confirmed a senior Balochistan police officer.
Security forces & rescuers quickly intervened, moving the bodies & injured to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital.
Unknown persons planted an improvised explosive device (IED) on a motorcycle at Umar Farooq Chowk and detonated it remotely.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion as of this article’s filing, as further investigations are underway.
